I've gone back and forth between both without reinstalling windows just restoring back to the one that works and each time it worked so I'm pretty sure it's the updated controller not working with my Motherboard? My main problem with this is I decided to upgrade to windows 10 and doing this updated to that driver and I couldn't find a way back to the old one so I had internet and I ended up restoring back to Windows 7 with the old Ethernet driver. I've tried the solutions of turning Green Ethernet EEE off in the advanced settings of the Adapter and turned off the "Allow this computer to turn this device off to save power" Is there any way I am able to get the adapter to work with internet while running windows 10?
This could be due to incompatibility of the network adapter in Windows If you think it is the updated driver, you may also want to check visit the computer manufacturer's website to ensure it is updated driver. If that also does not solve the issue, you may try installing the same driver in compatibility mode for previous version of Windows while running Windows Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box. Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. You are unlikely to ever get Windows 7 running again properly. Best solution is a complete re-install of Windows 7.
If you are going to do a re-install, you may be able to take your data off first. Remove the hard drive and put it into a USB external drive housing.
Connect to a working PC, copy the data off. Always check to ensure the hard drive you are about to rebuild is actually sound from a hardware perspective. You will need a Win7 install disk for 2 or 3. You will need a legal product code for 3 and the win7 disk must match the edition of the code and its bitness 32 or If you do not have the original Windows 7 install disk, borrow one from a friend.
I will see what I can do with this. But I have the disk that came with the motherboard and upgrading the lan driver even from that disk would do the same thing and not work. Same with the drivers I downloaded from many sights and different versions.
I guess for now all I can do is stay on Windows 7 and wait until I can get a new motherboard or try a network card. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Canadian Tech. Takes a lot of time, but not all attended time. You start as if you are re-installing from scratch but when it gets to the point where it offers the Upgrade choice you choose that.
